Chipping Campden, or for most of its existence simply Campden, is a former railway station on the Cotswold Line, which served the town of Chipping Campden in Gloucestershire, England.
History
[edit]The Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway was opened in stages. The section between Evesham and Wolvercot Junction, to the north of Oxford, was opened on 4 June 1853;[1] the station at Campden was opened at the same time and was named Mickleton.[2] It was later renamed Campden[3] and became Chipping Campden in February 1952.[4] It closed on 3 January 1966.[5]
