@GeoffreyT2000: Re this edit, notice that the daily news feed at Portal:Current events only started in the middle of 2006 (History). The daily subpages from 1997 to June 30, 2006 are not archives of the current events portal - they were created at various later dates by editors wanting to "fill in the missing news".
