The AAA World Tag Team Championship (Campeonato en Parejas AAA in Spanish) is the main tag team title contested for in the Mexican lucha libre promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) and WWE. Pagano and Psycho Clown are the current champions, who are in their first reign as a team and the second individually. They won the titles by defeating Los Garza (Angel and Berto) in a Street Fight at Triplemanía Regia III on June 15, 2025.
History
[edit]In 1993, AAA created the first version of the AAA World Tag team championship, technically the AAA/IWC (International Wrestling Council) World Tag Team titles. The belts used for the AAA/IWC titles were the old NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Championship belts. The original version was abandoned upon Art Barr's death in 1994.[1] In 2007, AAA created a new World tag team title to replace the Comisión de Box y Lucha Libre Mexico D.F. controlled Mexican National Tag Team Championship.[2] The titles are listed here separately as they share names but not lineage.
Reigns
[edit]Overall, there have been 35 reigns among 28 teams and 46 wrestlers. The Black Family (Dark Cuervo and Dark Ozz) are the inaugural champions. The Dark Family and Los Güeros del Cielo have the most reigns among tag teams with three, while Joe Lider has the most reigns among wrestlers with five. Los Lucha Bros (Fénix and Pentagón Jr.) have the longest reign at 853 days and the shortest reign at 5 minutes. Negro Casas is the oldest champion at 64 years and 153 days.
Pagano and Psycho Clown are the current champions, who are in their first reign as a team and the second individually. They won the titles by defeating Los Garza (Angel and Berto) in a Street Fight at Triplemanía Regia III on June 15, 2025 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
