The 2025 Odintsovo school attack was a deadly mass stabbing that occurred on 16 December 2025 at Uspenskaya Secondary School in Gorki-2 [ru] settlement, a subdivision of Odintsovo city, Moscow Oblast, Russia. A 15-year-old student allegedly attacked fellow students and school staff with a knife and pepper spray, killing a 10-year-old pupil of Tajik descent and injuring three others before being detained by law enforcement. A criminal case was opened by the Investigative Committee of Russia.[3][4] The suspect also recorded the attack using a phone, mounted on the perpetrator's helmet.

Attack

[edit]

On the morning of 16 December 2025, a 15-year-old pupil allegedly entered Uspenskaya Secondary School in Gorki-2, armed with at least one knife and reportedly a pepper spray device.[5] According to statements from local authorities, the attacker sprayed a security guard before stabbing a 10-year-old fourth-grade pupil, a Tajikistan citizen[6], who later died from his injuries. Several other individuals, including the guard, were wounded and transported to a nearby hospital.[7] The alleged attacker reportedly filmed his attack.[6]

The suspect was subdued and detained at the scene by responding policemen.[8] The Investigative Committee of Russia announced that a criminal investigation had been opened on charges, including murder.[9]

Following the attack, the school was evacuated and emergency services were deployed to the area. Classes were suspended as investigators conducted on-site examinations and interviews with witnesses.[10]

The words "No Lives Matter" were found written on the suspect's t-shirt.[11][dead link]. On an airsoft pistol owned by the alleged suspect, the words "2025 Jakarta Bombing" were written, referring a school bombing in Jakarta that happened on 7 November 2025.[12][13] Before the attack he published an online manifesto, named "My Wrath", in which he expressed his hatred of Muslims, Jews, liberals and antifascists.[6]

Victim
