Welcome to Wikibooks, W3asal!
First steps tutorial

Wikibooks is for freely-licensed collaboratively-developed textbooks.
You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing and assume good faith about the intentions of others. Remember, this is a wiki, so you're allowed to change just about anything, and changes can be made easily. Come introduce yourself to everyone, and let us know what interests you.

If you're coming here from other Wikimedia projects, you should read our primer for Wikimedians to get quickly up-to-speed.

Getting help
  • See the Wikibooks help pages for common issues.
  • Remember, every edit is saved, so if you make mistakes, you can revert to an earlier version if needed.
  • Get help from the community in the Reading room or in our IRC channel.
  • You cannot upload an image until you have been a member for at least 4 days. If your upload is tagged with {{nld}}, {{bfu}}, or {{nfur}}, please read the template message as it explains the violation of our media policy. Please be sure to provide the required {{information}}: a license tag and source citation are always required; fair use images require a {{fair use rationale}}. Get help in the user assistance room.
Goodies, tips and tricks
  • Please fill in the edit summary and preview your edits before saving.
  • Sign your name on discussion pages by typing ~~~~
  • Please make sure you follow our naming policy - modules should be named like Book Title/Chapter Title.
  • User scripts can make many tasks easier. Look at the Gadgets tab of my preferences; check off the boxes for the scripts you want, and hit save!
Made a mistake?
  • Need to rename a page? Use the move tab (only become available once your account is 4 days old - until then, ask for help).
  • To get a page deleted, add {{delete|your reason for requesting deletion}} to the top of the page.
  • If something you wrote was deleted, please read the deletion policy, and check the deletion log to find out why. Also check the VFD archives if applicable. You can request undeletion at WB:VFU, or ask the administrator who deleted the page.
(P.S. Would you like to provide feedback on this message?)

Feel free to leave me a message here.

Talk pages

[edit source]

Hi W3asal,

I noticed that you had removed the last two comments placed on your talk page. This is, of course, your talk page and you're (mostly) free to use it as you see best. It is, however, helpful for your fellow Wikibookians if you leave discussions up for a while. For instance, you left a note on Talk:Calculus to which you got a reply, but by the look of your talk page, no-one got back to you. Not only do more signs of activity lure more contributors, but they help readers determine who's been contributing to what extent without searching through page histories and user contributions. --Swift (talk) 05:00, 13 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Calculus

[edit source]

I was thinking of merging some derivations from WP into Wikibooks leaving links there to promote our books. There are a couple at w:Volume which I think belong rather here than there. I'm not sure how much I'll be working on this book, but feel free to bounce ideas off me or ask me to join discussions if you like. --Swift (talk) 05:00, 13 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you move examples form this page, the image I uploaded would go well with the cone example from w:Volume. And the sphere example would round out the second example which is intended to be about a sphere but hasn't really been written yet. Thenub314 (talk) 08:52, 13 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I would love some feedback about the images at Calculus/Volume if you have some spare time. Thenub314 (talk) 14:45, 20 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
