Terminology
[edit source]- Unfortunately for the U.S. audience, "football" is ambiguous. In the U.S., the sport called "football" is not the sport which is called "football" in most of the rest of the world. You probably should mention this. The U.S. name for the sport you describe is "soccer". ...Selden 19:04, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
I don't think the word soccer is used much in French, or American Football played there very much, or compared with what they call le football in France. I have made a small clarification in the introduction nevertheless. Recent Runes 21:04, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
New Content
[edit source]Hi. Is new content still in the pipeline for this book? Thanks for your efforts so far, this is ideal for my purposes. Ladders777
I do have a backlog of extra phrases to add to the phrase book and I hope to add about 30 per week, but it takes me a while to decide on the most common forms in use and find a reasonably idiomatic translation. I am allowing the dictionary to lag behind until I reach the 1000 phrase mark, when I will try to bring that up to the same level. Recent Runes (talk) 18:22, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Audio Samples
[edit source]Although some pages have links for uploading audio samples, there may be file name clashes with the French book due to template sharing. This will be sorted out at some point, but is not expected to cause any problems in the near future. Recent Runes (talk) 19:23, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
