Indian Defence
[edit | edit source]3...Bg7
[edit | edit source]The Bishop moves to its ideal square, bearing down on the central dark squares. Black has so far kept the options open by not committing a central pawn move. White can now take control of e4 ready for occupation or develop in a more passive way, the most common is to play g3 and fianchetto the kingside Bishop.
