Last updated

Trailvista gives you powerful customization options for your individual blog posts. These settings allow you to improve readability, encourage user engagement, and keep your posts looking polished and consistent with your brand.

How to access Single Post Settings:

  1. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
  2. Go to Appearance > Customize.
  3. Click on Single Post.

You’ll see a variety of options you can configure:

1. Banner Layouts

  • Choose from two different layouts for the post header/banner area.
  • This allows you to decide how the featured image, title, and metadata are presented at the top of the article.

2. Single Sidebar layout

Select how the sidebar appears on individual posts. There are four sidebar layouts:

  • No Sidebar – Full-width layout for a distraction-free reading experience.
  • Right Sidebar – Displays widgets on the right side of the post.
  • Left Sidebar – Displays widgets on the left side.
  • Full Width Center – Displays the content in a centered, full-width layout that stretches across the page for a clean and modern look.

3. Post Meta Settings

Control which details appear in your posts.

  • Show Category – Toggle on to display the post’s category (e.g., Travel Tips, Food, Destinations).
  • Show Dates – Display the publish date to let readers know how current the article is.
  • Show Author- Display the author’s name to let the readers know the author of the blog.
  • Crop Featured Image
    • On: Crops the featured image to theme-recommended dimensions for consistency.
    • Off: Shows the original image size.
  • Show Author Box – Enable to display the author’s bio, name, and profile image at the bottom of posts. Author details can be added in Dashboard > Users > Profile.
  • Display Post Tags – Toggle on to show tags used in the post (e.g., Hiking, Europe, Packing).
  • Show Pagination – Display navigation links to the Previous Post and Next Post at the end of the article, encouraging readers to continue exploring your blog.

4. Related Posts

Encourage readers to stay longer on your site by showing related posts.

  • Show Related Posts – Toggle this on to add a related posts section below each article.
  • Related Posts Section Title – Add a custom title such as “You May Also Like”, “Related Articles”, or “Keep Reading”.
  • Related Post Taxonomy – Choose whether related posts are shown by Category or Tags.
  • Number of Posts – Decide how many related posts to display (e.g., 3, 4, or 6).
  • Posts per Row – Choose how many posts appear in a row for a grid layout.

5. Show Social Sharing

  • Toggle this on to display social sharing buttons on your blog posts.
  • Visitors can quickly share your content on social platforms, which helps increase reach and visibility.

6. Enable Open Graph Meta Tags

  • When turned on, the theme will manage Open Graph meta tags, which control how your posts look when shared on social platforms (title, image, description).

Important: If you are already using SEO plugins like Yoast SEO or Rank Math, disable this option to prevent conflicts, since those plugins handle Open Graph tags too.

7. Social Share Text

Customize the label shown above the sharing icons — e.g., “Share this post:”

8. Social Sharing Buttons

  • Displays a list of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Click the Eye icon to show/hide individual platforms
  • Drag and drop to reorder the button positions

9. Comment Settings

Manage how the comments section works on your posts.

  • Show Comments – Enable or disable comments entirely.
  • Comment Form Position – Choose whether the comment form appears above or below the list of comments.
  • Comment Form Placement – Decide whether the comment form shows before or after the Author Box.

Tip: For better engagement, it’s usually best to keep the comment form below the comments, so readers see existing discussions before adding their own.
