Thank you for helping us identify URLs having trouble with Wikipedia's automatic citation generator.
2
We are no longer collecting problematic URLs here.
3
Please, indicate the expected results using Web2Cit translation tests instead. See https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Web2Cit
4
The Web2Cit community will use these to collaboratively configure Web2Cit accordingly.
5
You may use Web2Cit automatic citations from Wikipedia installing the Web2Cit user script.

How to fill this spreadsheet
8
First, a big THANK YOU for helping us with this project.
9
Please read the instructions carefully and if you have any doubts don't hesitate to reach out to Scann either through her User page on any wiki or through email: scannopolis [at] gmail.com
10
If you want to skip these instructions, see the Example URL for guidance in the "Problematic URLs" sheet and come back to this if you have doubts.
11
NOTE: If you don't add any information in the Expected/Returned values, we won't prioritize your URL.
12
How the spreadsheet is organized
13
1. The spreadsheet has several columns, divided in 4 groups:
14
Basic information:Minimal information required to report a problematic URL.
15
Expected values:These are the values that you expect Citoid to return for some fields.
16
Returned values:The values that Citoid is actually returning for all the fields.
17
Other information:Contact, Priority and Comments
18
2. Both Expected/Returned values have the same fields: Type, Title, Author's Last and First Name, Date, Published in/by.
19
How to fill each of the fields
20
Basic information1. URL: add the full URL of the reference you are having problems with. Do not cut it or add just the main URL for the website.
21
2. Language: the language of the reference. Note that the language is a validated field that uses the ISO language codes.
22
Expected values1. These are the values that you are expecting Citoid to return when adding the reference. These are found in the reference itself.
23
2. Complete the fields to the best of your ability. If you can't, make sure to at least complete the fields you're having most problems with.
24
3. Type: What type of reference is the URL? You can select only one from the different types. Note that Type is a *validated field* and it follows Zotero's categories for type of references.
25
4. Title: What's the title of the reference?
26
5. Author's Last Name: What's the author's last name? If the reference does not have one, add "NA" (Not Applicable)
27
6. Author's First Name: What's the author's first name? If the reference does not have one, add "NA" (Not Applicable)
28
7. Date: When was the reference published? Follow yyyy-mm-dd format.
29
8. Published in/by: What's the entity publishing the source? For example, the name of the newspaper or government agency. If you are unsure about this field, leave it blank.
30
Returned values1. These are the values that Citoid actually returns when trying to add the reference. These are found in Wikipedia.
31
2. Only complete the fields where Citoid is not retrieving the information you are expecting. Leave all the other fields blank.
32
3. Use 'NULL' if Citoid is not retrieving something where it should be.
33
4. Leave the field blank:
34
if you have already marked it as "NA" (Not Applicable);
35
if Citoid is retrieving the information correctly;
36
Other information1. Only complete these fields if you want to be contacted, want to establish a priority, or have any comments.
37
2. Contact: Leave either your user name, your user page, or your email. Use *ONLY* if you want to be contacted with further information or clarification questions.
38
3. Priority: This field is a validated field. Categories are "High", "Medium", "Low". Ask yourself the following questions to establish priority:
39
1. Is the reference particularly relevant for your context? (region, area of expertise, etc.)
40
2. How often do you use this reference?
41
3. How often do you have problems with this reference?
42
4. Do you have this problem with other URLs in the same site?
43
4. Comments: any other comments that you think are relevant or that might aid us in understanding what you've done.
