Highlights from Pages appear in Kindle dark mode

I used pages to write my book - once uploaded to (Kindle Create) there are highlights in dark mode when read in Kindle. How do I fix this?

What version of Pages? Mac or i/Pad/OS? Was your document exported as EPUB or a Word document as input to Kindle Create? Can you provide an image of that "highlight" as it appears on the Kindle?

Saying you have "highlights in dark mode" on the Kindle does not define what you did in your Pages document in the comparable document position. We need to have a common understanding of what you mean by "highlight?"

Pages was designed to provide EPUB output compatible with Apple's Book Store and the Books application. If you generated an EPUB from Pages, it will have Apple-specific encoding for that explicit compatibility. Apple does not guarantee that any export from Pages will appear as it does in the original Pages document, nor when viewed in non-Apple hardware or software.

Did I read this correctly? You are using Pages v11 on macOS Sequoia? The correct version of Pages to be using on Sequioia v15.6 or later it would be v14.5 or v15.1.

Using that outdated version of Pages (v11) which was intended for macOS Catalina could explain volumes about your observed Kindle experience.

Your ability to use Kindle Create is entirely documented or supported by Amazon.

I do not know how to update pages. I tried but it takes me to a whole new program and then I’ve seen so many bad reviews on that program that I am hesitant to update the original pages that I have. Version 11.

I am using MacBook Pro Sequoia. So what I have found is that Pages has hidden coding and I have tried everything to get it out. I have tried stripping it. I’ve tried copy pasting into notes. I’ve tried turning off all the buttons on the side paintbrush that show colors in the background. The hidden coding is impossible to get out. It’s only in the first half of the book which is really odd. I will attach a picture below. This only shows up in the dark mode in Kindle. And let me just tell you that I have over 20 times emails and they literally have no clue how to fix this . If you have a step-by-step way to fix this, I would be very grateful. It would even be more helpful if I could not lose my formatting as that is going to be such a big job to go back in and reformat. Thank you.
