Ubuntu Support Template
Ubuntu Version:
None. Trying to restore Windows 10 boot.
Desktop Environment (if applicable):
Windows 10
Problem Description:
Windows 10 slowed down to a stop ans gray screen. So cold restarted it and it would not boot up. Got the fix-it tool called “Boot-Repair-Disk” and ran it. Failed to fix it. Got the status log error report. Report begins with notification of an input/output failure with the disk. What does that mean? Is the disk broken? And how can it have an input/output failure yet still supply information about its partitioning and contents?
Report is below.
Relevant System Information:
HP Z420 Workstation with GPU for doing graphics. Solid State drive for OS and programs (c: or sdc). Conventional SATA HDD for data. Another for backup via Acronis.
Runs Windows10. Has Ubuntu 19 on it, but I don’t use it. I’m not even sure it could have been booted.

What I’ve Tried:
Prior to the Boot-Repair-Disk tool, I tried various command prompt stuff like DISKPART to assign drive letter to the efi partition and then bootrec /fixboot, which always answered “Access denied”.
