‘Weapons’: Teaser For Zach Cregger’s Highly Anticipated Horror Movie Drops

'Weapons' movie review

The first public look at Weapons, Zach Cregger’s follow-up after Barbarian, is here. This is not the clip we saw at CinemaCon, by the way, rather pieces of it.

The voice-over as the camera swirls around a darkened kid’s bedroom here sounds like it’s from Toby Huss as he tells a concerned parent, “Mr. Graff, I can understand your passion, and I don’t mind having these conversations with you, because God forbid, if it was my child, I’d be demanding answers too.”

The set-up here: children are leaving their houses in the middle of the night, and it’s freaking parents out.

Continues the voice-over, “Those kids walked out of those homes nobody pulled them out.” And then the freak images of young children dashing through the night in their pajamas.

Originally set to come out over MLK weekend 2026, Warner Bros got so excited about Weapons it moved the movie to summer, on August 8, after excellent test scores. The notion is that we’re bound for another horror event film after Ryan Coogler’s Sinners opened to $48M this past weekend.

In CinemaCon footage shown earlier this month, we saw mobs of parents at a PTA school meeting losing their minds over their kids gone missing. It’s a situation that has Josh Brolin’s character yelling for answers, and Julia Garner’s concerned parent waking up in night sweats. She happens to walk into a classroom in the middle of the night to find spooky kids at a desk. There’s also a lot of twisted, blood-curdling images not shown here, i.e., blood exploding from a head and some red-haired clown kid popping up in the forest.
