Paul Mescal is an Irish actor from County Kildare in Ireland, Paul Mescal first played Gaelic football before he attended the Lir Academy in Dublin.

He broke into entertainment with his role as Connell in the television adaptation of Salley Rooney’s Normal People, in which he starred alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones. Following this Emmy-nominated breakout role, he has appeared in several films including  The Lost Daughter (2021), God’s Creatures (2022), Aftersun (2022) for which he received his first Oscar nomination, Carmen (2022) alongside Melissa Barrera, All of Us Strangers alongside Andrew Scott and Foe alongside Saoirse Ronan.

His latest project is Gladiator II, directed by Ridley Scott as a sequel to the first film starring Russel Crowe. In Gladiator II, Mescal plays Lucius, son of Crowe’s character Maximus. Mescal was once romantically linked to musician Phoebe Bridgers, and as of late he has been seen with musician Gracie Abrams.
