Less than a day after Rob Reiner and his wife were slain in their Los Angeles home, Donald Trump has attacked The American President director.
In fact, Trump doubled down Monday on the killing of Reiner, attacking the acclaimed filmmaker who the LAPD says was murdered by one of his sons.
“Well, I wasn’t a fan of his at all,” Trump said in the Oval Office today, after slagging the Oscar-nominated Reiner online earlier saying he was killed “due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.”
Late last night, the Reiners’ 32-year-old son Nick was arrested by the police as a suspect in his parents’ deaths by multiple stab wounds.

The younger Reiner, who had been living with his parents again of late, was booked for murder. He is being held in downtown Los Angeles on no bail now (it had previously been $4 million), and police say they will be handing the case to the L.A. County District Attorney for potential prosecution as early as Tuesday. If found guilty on homicide charges, Nick Reiner could be sentenced to life behind bars without the possibility of parole.
With all that’s now known, and given a chance to walk back his remarks of earlier, Trump instead decided to go even further in lashing out at Reiner.
“He was a deranged person, as far as Trump is concerned,” Trump added, speaking of himself in the third person, referring to Reiner, a well-known supporter of the Democrats and progressive causes.
In a mini-press conference that also included topics like the fatal shooting at Brown University, his potential lawsuit against the BBC and the war in Ukraine, Trump added: “He said .. .that I was a friend of Russia, controlled by Russia. He knows the Russia hoax, he was one of the people behind it. I think he hurt himself career-wise, he became like a deranged person, Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
“So I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all in any way, shape or form. I thought he was very bad for our country.”
Trump’s first set of remarks Monday about the Reiners earned him quick blowback, with even a few Republicans calling the comments too much. Already these latest remarks are earning similar reactions.
Trump’s set of insults about Reiner were a stark contrast to what his successor and predecessor Joe Biden had to say Monday morning about the filmmaker and his wife’s deaths:
Disgusting words from a disgusting individual. And really, Trump is lashing out because he knows Rob Reiner was everything Trump is not: Respected, liked, revered for his talents, and just for being a decent person.
What can be said about Trump that hasn’t already been said? Anybody who supports him in any manner whatsoever should be ashamed of themselves.
Being cruel after two people were murdered speaks volumes about the person. It is an unspeakable tragedy for the Reiners and for our country.
I think ABC needs to ignore Trump for at least week. Keep all news of him off-air. Seems only fair.
Rob Reiner is an American Legend who has done more to make this country a better place than the POS destroying the White House and our government ever will.
