Hacks is returning for a fifth season.
Max renewed the Emmy-winning comedy series ahead of the season four finale this Thursday. The series has garnered 48 Emmy nominations during its run, including a season three win for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Hacks has been a top five series on Max since its season four debut in the U.S. and a top 10 series globally. Season four has been pacing as the series’ best season yet, the streamer reports.
Starring Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, Hacks was created and is run by Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky. It is executive produced by Downs and Aniello via their Paulilu banner, Statsky via First Thought Productions, as well as Michael Schur via Fremulon, David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment, Morgan Sackett, and Joe Mande.
The studio is Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

The fourth season also starred Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, and Rose Abdoo, along with Dan Bucatinsky, Helen Hunt, Tony Goldwyn, Kaitlin Olson, Jane Adams, Lauren Weedman, Christopher McDonald, Poppy Liu, Lorenza Izzo, Johnny Sibilly, Paul Felder, Polly Draper, Luenell, and Aristotle Athari.

This season is the best so far, amazing writing, acting etc.! At this level it can go forever!
The BEST comedy on television now. The writing is superb. It’s so rare for a show to maintain such consistent quality, but Hacks has never disappointed. The entire team needs to be proud of what they have done so far and continue to do.
I thought the finale wss going to be an hour. It wasnt enough. I cant wait a year for tge next srason. Jean Smart msy not make it. I love her. Im the same age as her. I may not make it.
Did the writing improve after season 2? Because up until then it was the same plot device over and over and over; dumb assistant says something she shouldn’t and regrets it. The third time it happened is when I bailed.
I bailed after S2 too. Has it really gotten 1000% better? And is it really funnier than The Studio?
Great news! This show has so much heart and tension between the two leads it’s amazing. The push and pull of their dynamics makes it’s always interesting. And if Julianne Nicholson does win a guest Emmy as dance mom I will riot! Few things make me actually laugh out loud but her commitment and performance were outstanding.

Season Four has had a mix of drama and comedy, with more than a few surprises. I think it’s the best show on TV.
