Čeština: Alois Horáček (* 21. listopadu 1921 Rousínov na Moravě – 1999 Warwick USA) byl za druhé světové války příslušníkem českého vládního vojska, kterému se podařilo přeběhnout v Itálii k partyzánům a posléze se dostat do Velké Británie, kde byl zařazen do parašutistického výcviku pro zvláštní úkoly. Začátkem května 1945 se účastnil zrušeného výsadku MORTAR–KAFKA do Protektorátu Čechy a Morava. Po druhé světové válce emigroval z komunistického Československa do USA, kde vystudoval a pracoval v letecké společnosti Panam.
English: Alois Horáček (* November 21, 1921, Rousínov, Moravia – 1999, Warwick, USA) was a member of the Czech government army during World War II who managed to defect to the partisans in Italy and eventually make his way to Great Britain, where he was assigned to paratrooper training for special missions. In early May 1945, he took part in the canceled MORTAR–KAFKA parachute drop into the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. After World War II, he emigrated from communist Czechoslovakia to the USA, where he studied and worked for the Pan Am airline. |
