"As someone who was homeless three different times, I knew that God wanted me to use my experience to help others. I was voted into the Community Shelter Board’s Continuum of Care Steering Committee and then joined COHHIO's Board as the first person with lived experience on both boards. COHHIO helped me find my voice and taught me how to advocate for change so that other people don’t have to suffer like I did. COHHIO helped me turn my negative experience into a power to do good."
