Glad you enjoy the series! I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface by reading four of them. A quick check of GR shows 15 books in the series!

She’s such a wonderful writer. I’m currently a quarter through “The Assassins of Thassalon” and already trying to stretch it out. Short-novel length, but those pages just fly by. Prime stuff.

Thank you. I enjoy well-done novellas because the shorter form can mean tighter focus. This one was nicely plotted, I thought.

I’m not a fan of the fantasy genre, but your review makes me think I might enjoy this one.

It’s good stuff. I had looked at my moderate leanings towards Oreos, sugary breakfast cereals, boxed mac and cheese, and the occasional frozen pizza as occasional indulgences and nostalgia. This certainly gave me a more cynical perspective, and was inspiring to minimize.

Comment on The Marlow Murder Club by Robert Thorogood by Jim https://clsiewert.wordpress.com/2026/01/24/the-marlow-murder-club-by-robert-thorogood/comment-page-1/#comment-11606 Sun, 25 Jan 2026 00:27:30 +0000 http://clsiewert.wordpress.com/?p=14031#comment-11606 Hi!

I follow you on Goodreads – user name Jim and my avatar thing is bloody hyenas – which probably doesn’t help much. I feel like garbage, for a lot of reasons, none of which are your problem or your fault. So I’ll skip past them and start another direction. Two questions: 1) Why do you think GR is eliminating communication options for users? And much different. 2) Why do you think the world is so fucked up right now? It is sooo bad, and I sometimes think we are just so close to the end of things. Anyway. Sorry for the gloom. I just can’t find a center anymore. You can write me at my email if you want, but I’ll leave that to you to choose and won’t just throw it at you. I enjoy your reviews, which I probably should have said first, huh? So… Cheers, Jim.
