No injuries were reported in a Friday morning fire that left an abandoned house partially destroyed.
Columbus Fire and Rescue responded shortly before 11 a.m. to find the house fire “fully involved” near the corner of Military Road and 11th Avenue North, Public Information Officer Jaquay Sherrod told The Dispatch.
No one was inside the home at the time, and firefighters brought the blaze under control in about 40 minutes.
“The weather was a big help as well,” Sherrod said, referring to the morning rain showers on Friday.
Fire Chief Duane Hughes told The Dispatch an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
