We publish print editions Tuesday through Saturday, and each day’s paper is delivered by the US Postal Service. Typically the day’s stories are made available online around 7 a.m. Central Time, but we also post some breaking news and sports stories as they are written.

How do I run an obituary for a loved one?
We receive obituaries from funeral homes nation-wide and have close working relationships with all local funeral homes. Funeral homes work with the family of the deceased and send us the text for the obituary. The Dispatch offers two forms of obituaries. We run basic obituaries at no charge. Basic obituaries are limited on the information they can contain. A photo can be added to a basic obituary for a small charge. An enhanced obituary is a paid ad and can contain whatever information you want to include about your loved one. Specify to your funeral home if you are interested in a paid enhanced obituary, and we will work with the funeral home to give you a quote on the cost of the obituary before it runs. Some families choose not to work with the funeral home and instead work directory with a crematory or with a scientific institution. In those instances, we need a letter from the institution stating that they are working with you, and you have authority to place the obituary.
