Virendra Rajpurohit liked thisVirendra Rajpurohit liked thisI am delighted to share the successful completion of the Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "A Gateway to Quantum Computing – Hands-on Approach – IV", organized by the School of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (SEEE), SASTRA Deemed to be University, in association with the IEEE Student Branch, from 29 June to 4 July 2026. I am especially happy to note that this marks the fourth consecutive year of organizing this FDP. Conducted every year during the last week of June, the program has grown into a flagship annual initiative aimed at equipping faculty members, researchers, students, and industry professionals with the latest advancements in quantum computing through expert lectures and hands-on training. The FDP brought together participants from various institutions, creating an excellent platform for learning, collaboration, and knowledge exchange in the rapidly evolving field of quantum computing. The program featured insightful sessions delivered by distinguished academicians and industry experts: Dr. Padmapriya Pravinkumar, Associate Professor, SASTRA Dr. Manjula Gandhi, Professor & Head, CIT Dr. Jayakumar Vaithiyashankar, CEO, Anuthantra Pvt. Ltd. Dr. Vijay Ramasamy, Assistant Registrar, SASTRA Deemed to be University Shri Mohit Joshi, BHU Keysight Technologies Shri J. Jack Julies, Shri T. S. Gururaja, Shri S. Satheeshkumar, SASTRA The sessions covered a wide spectrum of topics, including Fundamentals of Quantum Computing, Mathematical Foundations, Quantum Algorithms, Quantum Optimization, Quantum Cryptography, Quantum Machine Learning, Quantum Chemistry, Keysight Quantum PRO Simulation, and hands-on programming using IBM Qiskit, providing participants with both theoretical understanding and practical exposure to quantum technologies. As the Convener of the FDP, I had the privilege of coordinating the program and delivering technical sessions. I am sincerely grateful for the dedicated support of my research scholars, Shri T. S. Gururaja and Shri S. Satheeshkumar, whose commitment in organizing the event, coordinating the sessions, and facilitating the hands-on activities played a vital role in the smooth and successful execution of the FDP. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the resource persons for generously sharing their expertise and insights. With the world’s first approvals of two iPSC-derived therapies in Japan earlier this year, the promise of induced pluripotent stem cell technology is no longer theoretical—it’s now entering the clinic in a meaningful way. Equally remarkable, this year marks the 20th anniversary of the discovery of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)—a breakthrough that fundamentally transformed biomedical research. Over the past two decades, iPSC technology has redefined disease modeling, accelerated drug discovery, and opened entirely new frontiers in regenerative medicine. I’m looking forward to engaging with colleagues across academia and industry at #ISSCR2026. It’s an exciting moment for the field—and a great time to be part of this community. Virendra Rajpurohit reacted on thisVirendra Rajpurohit reacted on thisToday, I had the privilege of officially graduating from the MBA program at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management This journey began back in 2022 with countless hours of GMAT preparation, followed by interviews, acceptance, and ultimately stepping into the classroom in August 2023. What followed was undoubtedly one of the most challenging, intense, and deeply rewarding experiences of my professional life. Balancing a rigorous academic program with career commitments was a true test of resilience. From 7:00 AM classes before the workday started to strategy presentations & mock casings stretching well past 9:00 PM, this journey demanded relentless focus and continuous growth. Along the way, I had the privilege of deepening my expertise in finance, statistics, operations, strategy, and leadership—all while collaborating with some of the most talented and accomplished cohort peers in Canada. Sincere appreciation is extended to Professor Gerhard Trippen for fostering a strong foundational interest in data modeling and optimization. The academic rigor of the coursework provided critical frameworks for approaching complex business problems with quantitative discipline and reinforced the strategic value of data-driven decision-making. As I turn the page to this next chapter, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to my classmates, professors, colleagues, family, and friends. Your unwavering support made this achievement possible. The event marked the successful culmination of a wide range of academic and co-curricular activities, with enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members. It was an honor to share the stage with Dr. K. Thenmozhi, Dean, SEEE,SASTRA who provided valuable insights into the advanced infrastructure and state-of-the-art facilities at the SASTRA main campus, creating strong awareness among students. During my session, I spoke on Quantum Computing, introducing students to emerging technological advancements and the exciting possibilities in this rapidly evolving field. I was truly encouraged by the curiosity and engagement shown by the students. A special highlight of the event was the release of the department magazine, along with the certificate distribution ceremony, recognizing the efforts and achievements of participants. The entire program reflected excellent teamwork, leadership, and coordination by the staff and students. It was inspiring to witness such active involvement and enthusiasm.
