Hey everyone! I can't believe summer is over! Although I am excited for fall and all things Halloween and pumpkin spice (yes, I'm one of THOSE) I've always been a summer baby. Though with the higher temperatures and constant wildfires and smoke, summer hasn't been as magical as it used to be. Anyway, my vampire-witch urban fantasy romance, Bewitching the Vampire got another Netgalley listing, and this one is through a co-op, which means if you got rejected last time, you won't this time. Life news: The fires are finally out, which means I get to do the brakes on my car. Today I'm going to do the rear brakes, which is a little daunting because I haven't worked on drum brakes in over a decade. But I got all new parts and the old ones on my Honda probably won't be as rusted in as those on my poor Datsun. Operation purple house is being delayed because we need to replace the roof over the music room and the one over the garage. It's an expensive bummer.  In fun news, my son's birthday is on Monday, but we're celebrating a day early so we can take him to our favorite smokehouse and BBQ place for brisket.  I told him that I'd paint him a back patch for his heavy metal battle vest he's started. Because he likes puns and classical music, he asked for a Bach patch. Here it is! I'm also making headway on the Graveyard Girls. And will have some big news about the B Mine series soon. HORROR NEWS!  I was invited to take part in the House of Haunts anthology. The anthology focuses on a fictional haunted house and each author has a story for each room. I was assigned the garage, which is SO ME. I just signed the contract for my story, "My Fairlady," and you'll be able to read it on October 13th!

And, finally, I've been promising you all a pasta salad recipe, so here it is!  1 package radiatore pasta (or shells, rotini, or penne) 1 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1/2 cup ranch dressing 1 tablespoon dill weed 1 tablespoon parsley 1 tablespoon garlic powder 2 tablespoons parmesan 1 diced cucumber 1 diced tomato Salt and pepper to taste Cook pasta while mixing all other ingredients in a large bowl. Strain pasta under cold water to cool down. Mix pasta in the bowl Season with more herbs, ranch, or mayo as desired. Chill for at least an hour. Sprinkle with more parmesan before serving. I don't have a pic, so here's a lazy kitty.
