RETURNS: FOREHAND v BACKHAND
Serves go wide, at the body, and down the center of the service box. The returner either hits a forehand or a backhand return. Sounds clean and straightforward, doesn't it? Not. So. Fast.
There is actually a big difference between serving to the forehand or to the backhand. It's not a 50-50 proposition.
In general...
- Forehand returns are hit harder than backhand returns.
- Backhand returns go in more than forehand returns.
