grants for our members
As an Armed Forces charity, our mission allows us to offer our Members financial assistance with the additional costs and hardships of disability.
In 2024: 1,052 grants awarded to 674 individual Members. That’s the kind of practical support Blesma can provide when it’s needed most.
We provide support across a range of needs including powered and manual wheelchairs, mobility scooters, stairlifts, adapted bicycles, and essential household items.
We have also assisted with adaptations to bathrooms and kitchens, and access to homes and gardens.
Members have also been provided with equipment and training for employment.
Our aim is to ensure that all our Members can reach their full potential and live with purpose.
We’re able to consider grants for help with home redecoration and garden maintenance, because we understand the everyday impact of living with limb loss or disability — from wear and tear caused by wheelchairs and scooters, to the risks of tasks like climbing ladders or managing heavy outdoor work.
Applications are assessed on an individual basis, based on your specific needs.
Grants to help you stay independent at home and beyond.
If you’d like to discuss what support may be available, please contact your Blesma Support Officer in the first instance.
