Updated MLB Farm System Rankings Post 2025 MLB Draft
Now that the 2025 MLB draft is complete, it's time for an updated look at how all 30 MLB farm systems stack up and how recent picks fit into their team's organizational prospect rankings.
A tier system was used to help differentiate the varying levels of individual talent in each organization:
Tier 1: A player who checks in No. 1-25 on B/R's updated Top 100 prospects list, which will be released on Thursday morning. This is the cream of the prospect crop and players who are viewed as potential future superstars.
Tier 2: A player who checks in No. 26-50 on B/R's Top 100 prospects list. These are potential All-Star-level talents, but might not be fully untouchable in trade talks.
Tier 3: A player who checks in No. 51-100 on B/R's Top 100 prospects list. These names might have recently broken out, are still in the lower levels of the minors or are former Tier 1 or Tier 2 prospects whose stock is down.
Tier 4: A player who appears on the "Next 100" list in B/R's Top 100 prospects article. These players are Nos. 101-200 among prospects in no particular order, with the potential to climb the rankings in the near future.
Tier 5: Everyone else. Organizational depth, one-tool standouts, Quad-A guys, teenagers with an extremely limited track record in the lowest levels of the minors, you get the idea.
A player must not have surpassed the rookie-eligibility limits (130 at-bats, 50 innings pitched, 45 days on an active roster) to be included in these rankings.
For a deeper dive into all of the top 2025 draft picks, check out my full scouting and analysis of all 105 players who were selected on Day 1 of this year's draft.

9. SS Tate Southisene (Tier 5)—2025 Draft Pick
10. RHP Garrett Baumann (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: SS Alex Lodise
Despite being the second player the Braves selected in the 2025 draft, Lodise stands as the top newcomer to the system with a more MLB-ready game and less future variance than first-rounder Tate Southisene. The Florida State standout hit .394/.462/.705 with 17 home runs and 68 RBI this spring to win ACC Player of the Year honors.

The surface-level numbers have been great this season for Jones, who is hitting .296/.399/.639 with 23 home runs in 63 games between Double-A and Triple-A. However, he is still striking out at a 32.6 percent clip, including 20 strikeouts in 68 plate appearances since he was promoted to Triple-A.

8. RHP Braden Nett (Tier 5)
9. SS Cobb Hightower (Tier 5)
10. RHP Tyson Neighbors (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: LHP Kruz Schoolcraft
After taking 6'8" left-hander Boston Bateman in the second round of the 2024 draft, the Padres added another towering pitching prospect when they drafted Schoolcraft with this year's No. 25 overall pick. One of the better two-way players in the draft class with big raw power from the left side, he will focus solely on pitching in pro ball and has the potential to develop into a frontline starter.
25. Toronto Blue Jays (Previous Rank: 23)
6 of 30
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS JoJo Parker (Tier 3)—2025 Draft Pick
2. RHP Trey Yesavage (Tier 3)

8. LHP Johnny King (Tier 5)
9. LHP Kendry Rojas (Tier 5)
10. SS Josh Kasevich (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Gage Stanifer
A 19th-round pick out of the Indiana high school ranks in 2022, Stanifer logged a 6.33 ERA in 102.1 innings during his first two professional seasons, but he has turned a major corner this year. The 6'3", 201-pound right-hander has a 2.59 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 100 strikeouts in 62.2 innings between the Single-A and High-A levels.
24. Houston Astros (Previous Rank: 22)

8. OF Joseph Sullivan (Tier 5)
9. RHP Jose Fleury (Tier 5)
10. RHP Ryan Forcucci (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: OF Kevin Alvarez
Signed for $2 million in January, Alvarez has as much offensive upside as any prospect from the 2025 international class thanks to a smooth left-handed swing and a projectable 6'4", 184-pound frame. The 17-year-old is hitting .345/.436/.517 with 10 extra-base hits over 27 games in the DSL.
23. San Francisco Giants (Previous Rank: 30)

8. RHP Argenis Cayama (Tier 5)
9. SS Diego Velazquez (Tier 5)
10. LHP Jacob Bresnahan (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: SS Jhonny Level
Level turned in one of the better pro debuts from the 2024 international class, logging a .910 OPS with 10 home runs and 18 steals in 48 games, and that success has carried over to his stateside debut this year. The 18-year-old is hitting .298/.386/.513 with 21 extra-base hits and 14 steals in 51 games, and he could see Single-A before the year is over.
22. Washington Nationals (Previous Rank: 19)
9 of 30
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Eli Willits (Tier 2)—2025 Draft Pick
2. RHP Travis Sykora (Tier 2)

8. OF Ethan Petry (Tier 5)—2025 Draft Pick
9. RHP Landon Harmon (Tier 5)—2025 Draft Pick
10. C Caleb Lomavita (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: SS Eli Willits
The Nationals' decision to take Willits with the No. 1 overall pick registered as a shock for fans who don't closely follow the draft, but he has the talent to be the best player in the 2025 class. He doesn't have one standout tool, but he does everything well, with more polish and a higher floor than the average prep standout without sacrificing an All-Star ceiling.
21. Athletics (Previous Rank: 13)
10 of 30
Top 10 Prospects
1. LHP Gage Jump (Tier 2)
2. LHP Jamie Arnold (Tier 3)—2025 Draft Pick

7. 3B Tommy White (Tier 5)
8. OF Devin Taylor (Tier 5)—2025 Draft Pick
9. RHP Kade Morris (Tier 5)
10. C Daniel Susac (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Luis Morales
Morales does not turn 23 years old until September, but he is already pitching at the Triple-A level and knocking on the door for his MLB debut. The 6'3", 200-pound right-hander has the stuff and the frame to start, but he still has work to do cutting down a 10.2 percent walk rate if he is going to stick as a starter.
20. Kansas City Royals (Previous Rank: 21)
11 of 30
Top 10 Prospects
1. 1B/OF Jac Caglianone (Tier 1)

Prospect Snapshot: LHP David Shields
Shields was the fifth high school pitcher taken in 2024, signing for $2.3 million as the No. 41 overall pick after reclassifying from the 2025 draft class, and he does not turn 19 years old until September. The 6'2" southpaw has a 2.45 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and a 39-to-9 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 36.2 innings at Single-A.
19. Colorado Rockies (Previous Rank: 20)
12 of 30
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Ethan Holliday (Tier 1)—2025 Draft Pick

3. OF Yanquiel Fernandez (Tier 4)
4. OF Cole Carrigg (Tier 4)
5. SS Ryan Ritter (Tier 4)
6. RHP Brody Brecht (Tier 4)
7. OF Robert Calaz (Tier 4)
8. OF Jared Thomas (Tier 5)
9. OF Max Belyeu (Tier 5)—2025 Draft Pick
10. 3B Kyle Karros (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: OF Jared Thomas
Thomas is shaping up to be one of the steals of the 2024 draft after going No. 42 overall in the second round. The University of Texas product is hitting .322/.419/.484 with 14 doubles, 11 home runs, 45 RBI and 23 steals in 77 games, and he was recently promoted to Double-A. He was college teammates with 2025 second-round pick Max Belyeu.
18. Baltimore Orioles (Previous Rank: 29)

Top 10 Prospects
1. C Samuel Basallo (Tier 1)

8. C Caden Bodine (Tier 5)—2025 Draft Pick
9. OF Enrique Bradfield Jr. (Tier 5)
10. RHP Braxton Bragg (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: C/OF Ike Irish
Irish established himself as the best all-around hitter in the 2025 draft class when he posted a .364/.469/.710 line with 13 home runs in 28 games during conference play in the SEC. Moving him off catcher would put his bat on the fast track to the big leagues, and he has the offensive profile to be an everyday right fielder.
17. Miami Marlins (Previous Rank: 17)
14 of 30
Top 10 Prospects
1. LHP Thomas White (Tier 1)
2. SS Aiva Arquette (Tier 2)—2025 Draft Pick

7. SS Starlyn Caba (Tier 5)
8. OF Cam Cannarella (Tier 5)—2025 Draft Pick
9. OF PJ Morlando (Tier 5)
10. SS Andrew Salas (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Kevin Defrank
One of the top arms in the 2025 international class, Defrank signed for $560,000 and is quickly shaping up to be one of the organization's most promising pitching prospects. The ultra-projectable 6'5", 202-pound right-hander has an electric fastball and a great feel for his changeup, and he has racked up 20 strikeouts against just four walks in 14.2 innings in the DSL.
16. Chicago Cubs (Previous Rank: 12)
15 of 30
Top 10 Prospects
1. C Moises Ballesteros (Tier 2)

7. OF Ethan Conrad (Tier 4)—2025 Draft Pick
8. IF James Triantos (Tier 5)
9. SS Cristian Hernández (Tier 5)
10. RHP Will Sanders (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: OF Ethan Conrad
The Cubs have frequently targeted college bats who can reach the majors quickly at the top of the draft, and Conrad fits the mold after hitting .372/.495/.744 in 97 plate appearances during an abbreviated junior season that was cut short by shoulder surgery. He might have been a sure-fire top-10 pick with a fully healthy spring.
15. New York Mets (Previous Rank: 18)
16 of 30
Top 10 Prospects
1. RHP Jonah Tong (Tier 2)
2. RHP Nolan McLean (Tier 2)

8. 3B Jacob Reimer (Tier 5)
9. SS Jesus Baez (Tier 5)
10. LHP Jonathan Santucci (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: OF Carson Benge
One of the few newcomers to our Top 100 prospect list this update who was not a 2025 draft pick, Benge is putting together a fantastic first full season in the Mets organization. Last year's No. 19 overall pick is hitting .302/.422/.485 with 32 extra-base hits, 17 steals and a healthy 16.0 percent walk rate in 73 games between High-A and Double-A.
14. Arizona Diamondbacks (Previous Rank: 16)
17 of 30
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Jordan Lawlar (Tier 1)

10. RHP Daniel Eagen (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: 2B JD Dix
Dix signed for $2.15 million as the No. 35 overall pick in the 2024 draft, and he is hitting .333/.409/.483 with 22 extra-base hits and 11 steals in 52 games in his pro debut. His hit tool has been more polished than expected, and he is outperforming several high school middle infielders taken ahead of him last year.
13. St. Louis Cardinals (Previous Rank: 15)
18 of 30
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS JJ Wetherholt (Tier 1)

7. LHP Quinn Mathews (Tier 4)
8. IF Thomas Saggese (Tier 5)
9. C Jimmy Crooks (Tier 5)
10. OF Nathan Church (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: OF Nathan Church
Church was a high school teammate of Paul Skenes, and it might not be long before he gets a chance to face him in the NL Central. An 11th-round pick in 2022 out of UC Irvine, he is hitting .340/.402/.555 with 15 doubles, 10 home runs and 13 steals in 62 games across three minor league levels, and he has a high floor thanks to his wheels and defense in the outfield.
12. Minnesota Twins (Previous Rank: 6)
19 of 30
Top 10 Prospects
1. OF Walker Jenkins (Tier 1)
2. OF Emmanuel Rodriguez (Tier 2)
3. 2B Luke Keaschall (Tier 3)

8. RHP Charlee Soto (Tier 5)
9. OF Gabriel Gonzalez (Tier 5)
10. 3B/OF Quentin Young (Tier 5)—2025 Draft Pick
Prospect Snapshot: OF Gabriel Gonzalez
A Top 100 prospect during his time in the Mariners system, Gonzalez was acquired in the deal that sent Jorge Polanco to Seattle, but he struggled through a down year in 2024 and fell out of the top-prospect picture. Still only 21 years old, he has bounced back nicely this year with a .347/.420/.527 line over 358 plate appearances in the upper levels of the minors.
11. Cleveland Guardians (Previous Rank: 10)
20 of 30
Top 10 Prospects
1. 2B Travis Bazzana (Tier 2)

7. RHP Braylon Doughty (Tier 4)
8. OF Jace LaViolette (Tier 4)—2025 Draft Pick
9. 1B Ralphy Velazquez (Tier 5)
10. SS Welbyn Francisca (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: OF Chase DeLauter
Despite navigating a variety of injuries, DeLauter has still managed to hit .302/.384/.504 in 583 plate appearances in the minors since he was taken with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2022 draft. He has an .859 OPS in 34 games at Triple-A this year and should make his long-awaited MLB debut later this summer if he can stay healthy.

8. OF James Tibbs III (Tier 4)
9. LHP Connelly Early (Tier 5)
10. RHP Luis Perales (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: LHP Payton Tolle
Tolle continues to look like one of the biggest steals of the 2024 draft, logging a 3.25 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 101-to-17 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 63.2 innings between High-A and Double-A in his pro debut. The 6'6", 250-pound southpaw has struck out 22 of the 50 batters he has faced since he was promoted to Double-A in late June.
9. Chicago White Sox (Previous Rank: 9)
22 of 30

8. SS Caleb Bonemer (Tier 4)
9. RHP Tanner McDougal (Tier 5)
10. RHP Peyton Pallette (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: RHP Tanner McDougal
McDougal has arguably the best pure stuff in the White Sox system, with a fastball that touches triple digits and a pair of high-spin breaking pitches. Command was the big question entering the year, but he has trimmed his walk rate from 13.6 to 11.2 percent while posting a 2.54 ERA and 109 strikeouts in 85 innings.
8. Tampa Bay Rays (Previous Rank: 2)
23 of 30

7. OF Brendan Summerhill (Tier 4)—2025 Draft Pick
8. C Dominic Keegan (Tier 4)
9. RHP Brody Hopkins (Tier 4)
10. RHP Trevor Harrison (Tier 4)
Prospect Snapshot: OF Theo Gillen
It's been a down year for many of Tampa Bay's top prospects, opening the door for Gillen to take over as the No. 1 guy on its organizational list. The No. 18 pick in the 2024 draft is just scratching the surface of his dynamic 60-hit, 55-power, 60-speed profile, batting .278/.440/.407 with 14 extra-base hits, 30 steals and a massive 20.4 percent walk rate in 56 games at Single-A.
7. Detroit Tigers (Previous Rank: 5)
24 of 30
Top 10 Prospects
1. SS Kevin McGonigle (Tier 1)

4. C/1B Josue Briceño (Tier 3)
5. C Thayron Liranzo (Tier 4)
6. RHP Jaden Hamm (Tier 5)
7. 2B Max Anderson (Tier 5)
8. SS Jordan Yost (Tier 5)—2025 Draft Pick
9. 2B Hao-Yu Lee (Tier 5)
10. OF Cris Rodriguez (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: 2B Max Anderson
Anderson hit .414 with 21 home runs and 70 RBI in 57 games during his junior year at Nebraska, and the Tigers took him in the second round of the 2024 draft, despite his limited defensive profile. He has continued to rake in pro ball, posting a .328/.376/.534 line with 24 doubles, 11 home runs and 53 RBI in 72 games at Double-A.
6. Cincinnati Reds (Previous Rank: 11)
25 of 30
Top 10 Prospects
1. RHP Chase Burns (Tier 1)
2. RHP Rhett Lowder (Tier 2)
3. C Alfredo Duno (Tier 3)
4. 3B Sal Stewart (Tier 3)
5. 1B Cam Collier (Tier 3)

7. SS Steele Hall (Tier 4)—2025 Draft Pick
8. RHP Chase Petty (Tier 4)
9. SS Edwin Arroyo (Tier 5)
10. OF Héctor Rodríguez (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: SS Tyson Lewis
Part of a loaded 2024 high school shortstop class, Lewis went No. 51 overall to the Reds and signed for an above-slot $3.05 million bonus. A potential five-tool contributor, he is hitting .338/.390/.529 with 15 extra-base hits and 18 steals in 39 rookie ball games, and a move to Single-A should be coming soon.
5. Philadelphia Phillies (Previous Rank: 8)
26 of 30

1. RHP Andrew Painter (Tier 1)
2. OF Justin Crawford (Tier 2)
3. SS Aidan Miller (Tier 2)

10. OF Dante Nori (Tier 5)
Prospect Snapshot: OF Hendry Mendez
Signed for $800,000 by the Brewers in 2021, Mendez was acquired in the deal that sent Oliver Dunn to Milwaukee prior to the 2024 season. The 21-year-old has been one of the more unexpected offensive standouts at the Double-A level this year, posting a .287/.367/.437 line with 23 extra-base hits in 77 games to emerge as a legitimate top prospect.

Prospect Snapshot: OF Mike Sirota
Sirota has been baseball's biggest breakout prospect in 2025. He entered his junior season at Northeastern with some first-round buzz after a strong sophomore season and solid run in the Cape Cod League, but he ended up slipping to the third round after an up-and-down spring. A year later, he's hitting .333/.452/.616 with 16 doubles, 13 home runs, 54 RBI and a strong 59-to-48 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 270 plate appearances between Single-A and High-A, and he is a consensus Top 100 prospect.

The addition of Seth Hernandez with the No. 6 overall pick is a big reason why the Pirates made a significant move up the rankings. However, the emergence of Edward Florentino (199 PA, .325/.429/.613, 25 XBH, 10 HR at Rk/A) and Antwone Kelly (17 GS, 2.65 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, 88 K, 74.2 IP at A+/AA) as Tier 4 prospects has also played a major role, giving the team a deeper pool of impact prospect talent.

While Jesús Made might have the higher long-term ceiling, Peña is not far behind and is having the better season of the two at Single-A Carolina. The 18-year-old is hitting .311/.381/.489 with 23 extra-base hits and 36 steals in 59 games, looking the part of a future impact middle infielder.

Prospect Snapshot: 2B Michael Arroyo
After posting a .910 OPS with 23 home runs and 89 RBI last season, Arroyo has continued to rake this year with a .276/.422/.515 line that includes 18 doubles, 17 home runs and 47 RBI in 80 games between High-A and Double-A. His value will come largely from his bat, but he has been one of the most productive hitters in the minors the last two years.
