Jim Dunnigan
Jim Dunnigan (Republican Party) is a member of the Utah House of Representatives, representing District 36. He assumed office on January 1, 2023. His current term ends on January 1, 2027.
Dunnigan (Republican Party) is running for re-election to the Utah House of Representatives to represent District 36. He declared candidacy for the Republican convention scheduled on April 18, 2026.[source]
Biography
Jim Dunnigan lives in Taylorsville, Utah. He earned his B.S. in business management from the University of Utah in 1976. Dunnigan was the owner/insurance broker of Dunnigan Insurance from 1976 to 2004. Dunnigan was the state delegate of the Republican Party from 1990 to 1992. He also was councilman on the Taylorsville-Bennion Community Council from 1991 to 1996. From 1996 to 2002, he served on the Taylorsville City Council. Dunnigan then served as county delegate for the Republican Party from 2002 to 2004.

The Sutherland Institute, "a conservative public policy think tank" in Utah, releases its Scorecard for Utah State Representatives and Senators once a year. The Score Card gives each legislator a score based on how they voted in the prior legislative term on specific issues which the Sutherland Institute thought were pro-conservative policies.[12]
