			Origins
ISAG was established after the investigation of the STS-51L Challenger failure
as a lesson learned to improve the use of imagery in monitoring launch vehicle
performance. Our capabilities were enhanced with the use on-orbit inspection
systems implemented following the STS-107Columbia investigation. While imagery
analysis has become a standard component of space exploration, the process is
complicated by the use of camera systems that span decades of technology, varied
formats and quality, often never intended to serve analysis. ISAG specializes in
transcending these issues to deliver 2-D and 3-D analyses to improve flight control
team understanding of mission performance. ISAG’s analytical techniques, pioneered
in-house, continue to be honed with each new mission and technology advancement.
