Tours are generally reserved for families who’ve applied. Students are in deep, focused work during the day, and drop-in visitors disrupt that. The best way to see Alpha Plano in action is to attend one of our info sessions. These run frequently and give you a real look at the model without pulling students out of their learning. If your situation calls for it, we’re also happy to make exceptions on a case-by-case basis, so don’t hesitate to ask.
Tuition for Alpha Plano is $50,000/year. We offer sibling discount incentives and would be happy to discuss our payment structure in detail.
Submit an application, have private call with Director of Admissions, Student shadow, Consult with Dean of Parents, submit deposit, enrollment complete.
Yes. Students can generally start midyear. The exceptions are classes that are currently waitlisted or where staffing capacity doesn’t allow for a new seat yet. If that’s the case for your child’s age group, we’ll let you know right away and talk through timing.
We know cohort size, age range, and gender balance matter, especially in a smaller school. We’re glad to walk you through the current makeup of the class your child would join so you know exactly what to expect, not just a general policy.
Guides aren’t subject teachers. Our learning platform delivers instruction. Guides run motivation, coaching, the afternoon workshops, and the culture of the room, which makes who they are more consequential here, not less.
Selection is highly competitive. Every guide who joins is background checked and trained before their first day with students.
The rest of the day is structured around more than workshops. Students take part in a morning launch to set goals and intentions, track their progress on visible charts throughout the day, and wrap up with a closing circle where achievements are recognized and payouts (in Alphas, our school currency) are earned. It’s a full day, deliberately designed around momentum, not just academics.
Placement starts with MAP, a nationally normed screener we run at intake and periodically after. It tells us where your child actually is by subject, independent of the grade on their transcript. It isn’t STAAR, and it doesn’t change the grade they sit with socially.
From there, our platform’s diagnostics run continuously, placing each lesson at the right level and deciding when your child is ready to test out of a unit. So yes, placement is calibrated from day one, and it keeps calibrating as your child grows.
You’ll also have access to your child’s dashboard, showing exactly what they’ve worked on and how they’re doing across every subject. After a Shadow Day, we’ll send an Academic Performance Snapshot and walk through it with you on a call, rather than leaving you to read a percentile cold.
Students move on to Alpha High for grades 9–12. We’ll walk you through where, when, and what the application steps look like as your child approaches that transition, so there are no surprises when the time comes.
