- Office of Civil Rights Video Series
- The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (link is external) is proud to announce a video series covering a variety of topics related to digital access in education, including how people with disabilities use technology, applicable Federal regulations, and how to identify and remediate barriers to access.
- WebAIM Resource Articles
- WebAIM (Web Accessibility In Mind) articles are free, comprehensive resources on web accessibility, making websites usable for people with disabilities (visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive). The articles provide information from the user perspective, coding techniques, standards and laws, testing and evaluation and document and media accessibility.

- Resources include creating accessible documents, meetings, PDFs, Presentations, Social Media, Spreadsheets, Multimedia, and other digital assets such as electronic signatures, equations, emails, and alternative text.

Testing for Accessibility
- Section 508.gov Test for Accessibility
- An overview of testing methods and tools to test websites, software, and electronic documents for conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
- Grackle for Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets
- You should always use the accessibility tools within Google Workspace to create accessible documents. The Grackle Accessibility Checker helps ensure your documents are accessible and provides options to export them to other accessible formats, such as HTML or PDF.
- Microsoft Accessibility Checker
- You should always use the accessibility tools within Microsoft products to create accessible documents. The Accessibility Checker in the review tab will help ensure your documents are accessible.
- Canva Design Accessibility Checker
- If you create documents in Canva, consistently use the tools within Canva to create accessible content, and then run the accessibility checker before publishing.
- Foxit Accessibility Checker (PDFs)
- Foxit PDF Editor is a tool for reviewing and correcting PDF documents.
- Adobe Acrobat DC (PDFs)
- How to use the Accessibility Checker within Adobe Acrobat to review and remediate PDFs.
- PopeTech Accessibility Scanner
- An enterprise tool to check multiple pages associated with a University Website.
- Wave Browser Extension
- The Wave Extension is a great way to check individual websites you may reference in documents or course content.
- WordPress Accessibility Helper
- The NC State Accessibility Helper is a WordPress accessibility testing plugin that uses Deque Systems’ Axe engine.
- ANDI (Accessible Name & Description Inspector)
- ANDI is a free accessibility tool that detects issues, reveals screen reader output, and gives suggestions.
- AXE DevTools
- Tools for web development teams to help designers and developers check web pages and mobile applications to ensure they are accessible.
- Brickfield Accessibility+ Toolkit in Moodle
- The Brickfield Accessibility+ Toolkit is a suite of tools designed to help instructors and Moodle course editors find and fix common accessibility issues in their Moodle-based content.
- Link Contrast Checker
- Check the color contrast of your links to ensure they meet WCAG 2.1 AA requirements.
- Color Contrast Checker
- Use this tool to check the color contrast of text or pictures in your digital spaces to verify they meet WCAG 2.1 AA requirements.

- SensusAccess is an online document conversion system that converts text and image-based files into more accessible formats.

Resources
- OIT Captioning Grant
- Captioning grants are available to NC State faculty to support the creation of accessible multimedia content. The purpose of this grant is to caption instructional videos, with a focus on pre-recorded videos that the instructor did not create for which a captioned alternative is not available, as well as classroom-capture multimedia added to course resources.
- DELTA Course Accessibility Grants
- The Course Accessibility Grants provide in-depth evaluations and guidance to faculty who need assistance addressing new challenges, ensuring their course content is accessible to all students.
