Pathway to ADA Compliance
Utilize the "Learn It, Audit It, Improve It" framework to create a plan for the upcoming digital accessibility compliance deadline.
To meet the April 24, 2026 compliance deadline, implement this three-step method for digital accessibility. Recognizing that NC State already has a strong digital accessibility policy, many platforms are already compliant. The scope of work will vary—from a simple content review in some departments to more extensive work in others. These three steps are designed to guide all units to full compliance.
Step 1: Learn It
Learn the core components of digital accessibility and the ADA requirements and deepen your understanding through training and available tools.
Step 2: Audit It
Create an inventory of your digital content and technologies, assess and prioritize them and determine any additional training that may be needed.
Step 3: Improve It
Take action to address both immediate remediation needs, establish long-term accessibility-first workflows and measure your progress.
