You CAN run PHP on windows platforms … this is misinformative, surely?

they say windows is a little less secure than linux, but shurely they all have their good and bad points. php runs on windows as above, wordpress permalinks are a bit of a bugger to get sorted without the right apache plugins.

Nicely written article about security. I agree that it’s important to have secured web hosting, especiall for big websites with huge databases and many users, who can’t afford downtimes due to hacked website.

However on the other hand, I think security options for small companies and e-card types of websites is a waste of money. Why would you want to spend so much on dedicated servers or VPS, when you don’t make a cent from your website. If they hack you, you can set website from backup in like 15 minutes.

    Thanks a lot Thomas.

I was misguided by my first hosting provider. I think this is not gonna happen again. Can you tell me which are your favourite hosting providers ?

    I need a hosting provider.

No offense, but who is this article meant for (besides search engines)? Guys that are already hosting take nothing from this article and anybody that actually learns anything new here shouldn’t be in the hosting business anyways.

t is still crucial that webmasters take precautions to make sure that the security of their sites and data are not inadvertently compromised.6

One more thing you forgot to mention now a lot of these Hosting sites are now charging you a fee for security to use them to make up for the cheaper so called deals for monthly prices.
So if you see a hosting site that is telling you its only a few dollars a month that is not including security. By the time you add security you $4.00 a month plan has just jumped to around double to 3 times the quoted amount.
If you are looking for a secure and best deal on hosting make sure that the hosting provider keeps all you private information private and its included at no extra charge. if they try to charge you extra for what everyone else includes already find another web hosting company.

To ensure the security of your php website, first and foremost, it is better to avoid shared hosting and instead go with dedicated cloud hosting. Moreover, find a php hosting provider that provides managed security. This way you won’t have to deal with security issues for your server or website.
