Very often, we saw leaders engaged in quarrel or fight over something ... position, material, etc. But the question is do they always win, or it is someone else?
I saw 4 dogs this morning, with two large ones engaged in a desperate fight. I thought one of them is going to be bitten to death.
The brown one is obviously stronger and taller. He locked his jaws in the black one, his front legs held onto the neck... The observer on the left seem to enjoy the show!
... they seem to fight to the death!
... with blood all over the face! The black bitch in the center seems to approve their quarrel, after all, it was all because of her!
At the mean time, the smaller and weaker brown dog seems to lose orientation or was he an opportunist?
Obviously! While the leaders were busy fighting over the bitch, the opportunist jump into action!
... yeah, he seems to tell us that there was no need to fight! Just sit back and watch! Grasp the opportunity when it arises! The Chinese proverb describes this aptly: 鹬蚌相持,渔人得利
As human, is there any lesson we could learn here?

How to create successful brand
YTL is amongst Malaysia's 20 most valuable brands. I pick up some key words of what Tan Sri Francis Yeoh has to say:
"ability to deliver on its promises"
"emphasis on quality and consistency"
Then I think this paragraph is by far the most important:
Yeoh also believes that a brand is successful only if the company behind it masters the three languages. There's the language of God: Integrity, honesty, morality. The language of man: Be articulate, be a leader, a manager with vision. And the language of machines: Be fully equipped with computer and tech skills, he explains.

We are all leaders, in one way or another.
As a leader, do you honor and appreciate the power of WE? Do you stop to thank and recognize the members of your team? Do you consistently show an attitude of gratitude?
Do you understand the power of recognition, kindness, and setting personal goals. Also, in all of our conversations, never use "me", but always "we" when discussing any success that we had enjoyed in our business.
Reignite the passion in your life...
I like what Mac Anderson wrote:
... Sandbox Wisdom revisits our childhood to see what we should strive to rekindle as adults.
- Fun, Laughter, and Enthusiasm...We should strive to keep that childlike spirit in our work and our play. When we grow up we take ourselves way too seriously, and sometimes we become a heart attack waiting to happen.
- No Limit Thinking...As children we believe that we might become president, a great artist or a great explorer. But as adults we begin to put fences around those dreams.
- No Inhibitions...Children speak from the heart, and as adults we should strive to do more of that.
- Read People and Situations...Children can see past the trappings of material success and see into the core of people. As we grow older we begin to label people, and as the saying goes, "labeling is disabling."
- Creativity and Imagination...A great philosopher once observed, "Genius is childhood recaptured at will." The imagination and creativity we had at five too often begins to fade at fifteen.

Leaders
Paul said "Whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus" (Colossians 3:17)
Dr. John Maxwell writes, "If you desire to succeed, live by these four simple words: add value to others. That philosophy will take you far. All talented people have a choice to make: to do their own thing and get all the credit, or do the team thing and share it. My observation is that not only do talented people accomplish more when working with others, but they are also more fulfilled than those who go it alone."
To enjoy the privileges and benefits of leadership when you're willing to:
(a) go first and
(b) put others first.

MINISTRY VS JOB
Some people have a JOB in the church; others involve themselves in a MINISTRY.
What's the difference?
If you are doing it just because no one else will, it's a JOB.
If you are doing it to serve the Lord, it's a MINISTRY.
If you quit because somebody criticized you, it was a JOB.
If you keep on serving, it's a MINISTRY.
If you'll do it only as long as it does not interfere with your other activities, it's a JOB.
If you are committed to staying with it even when it means letting go of other things, it's a MINISTRY.
If you quit because no one praised you or thanked you, it was a JOB.
If you stay with it even though nobody recognizes your efforts, it is a MINISTRY.
It's hard to get excited about a JOB.
It's almost impossible not to be excited about a MINISTRY.
If our concern is success, it's a JOB.
If our concern is faithfulness, it's a MINISTRY.
An average church is filled with people doing JOBs.
A great and growing church is filled with people involved in MINISTRY.
Where do we fit in? What about us?
If God calls you to a MINISTRY, don't treat it like a JOB.
If you have a JOB, give it up and find a MINISTRY.
God does not want us feeling stuck with a JOB, but excited and faithful to Him in a MINISTRY.

Courage is...
Following your conscience instead of "following the crowd".
Following your intuition when the facts are against it.
Refusing to take part in hurtful or disrespectful behaviors.
Sacrificing personal gain for the benefit of others.
The ability to act regardless of the feelings or potential consequences.
Taking complete responsibility for your actions...and your mistakes.
Following the rules - and insisting that others do the same.
Challenging the status quo in search of better ways.
Saying 'I am sorry' when you are at fault, 'I don't know' when you don't and 'I love you' despite the hurt, anger or fear.
Each day we speak the truth with integrity, own our responsibilities and reach out to another ... we are building courage muscle.
Courage Quotes
Winston Churchill:
Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.
Theodore H. White:
To go against the dominant thinking of your friends, of most of the people you see every day, is perhaps the most difficult act of heroism you can perform.
