New testing lab for Tapestry Workshop @ SkillsMatter (London, Oct 5th)

SkillsMatter Logo I'm once again partnering with SkillsMatter to teach my full Tapestry workshop.

I've just finished up the materials for the new lab that covers testing of Tapestry components and applications. I'm quite pleased with how it came out. I'm really looking forward to this training. According to SkillsMatter, there's still room in the class for a couple of more students ... if you want to get started with Tapestry, or you want to get your Tapestry Ninja Skills going, this is the way to do it, fast!

The class will be taught at SkillsMatter's offices in London, from October 5th through the 8th.

Tapestry 5 Training in London: Oct 5 - 8

SkillsMatter Logo I'm once again partnering with SkillsMatter to teach my full Tapestry workshop. This is an expanded version of the class, which is growing from three days up to four; the additional day will ensure that we have time for all the existing materials, and add a new section on testing using TestNG, Selenium and Groovy. It will also give us more time to explore student directed ideas, such as security and meta-programming.

The class will be taught at SkillsMatter's offices in London, from October 5th through the 8th.

Getting Ready for SkillsMatter Training

Talk about putting too much on your plate ... I'm working to update my existing Tapestry workshop to release 5.2, even though it is an alpha snapshot. The new features, especially live class reloading in the services layer, are just too useful to ignore.

Tapestry Training Returns to London: April 14 - 16, 2010

I'll be returning to SkillsMatter to teach my Tapestry workshop. The course runs from April 14th to the 16th. I had a great time teaching the course back in February: SkillsMatter has a great facility, just perfect for a hands-on class like this one.

Upcoming Public Training: London and Paris

SkillsMatter Logo This is a big announcement ... something I've been working on pretty much since I left Formos. I've partnered up with SkillsMatter to provide my three-day, hands-on Tapestry training as a public enrollment course!

This is the exact same course I provide as on-site training, but we'll be doing it at the SkillsMatter offices in London on February 10th, and then in Paris on the 15th.

This is a big experiment for me and for SkillsMatter in terms of growing the size of the Tapestry community. In fact, SkillsMatter has really upped the ante here by offering 2-for-1 on the London training ... that's a great way to kick things off!

I can't emphasize enough what a great opportunity this is for people to get accelerated Tapestry training at a discount (even before factoring in the 2-for-1 offer). I'm really looking forward to bringing many new developers into the fold!

In addition, there will be a special, free evening event at each location. Details on that to follow. I look forward to meeting even more of you there!

Public Tapestry Training in London: Aug 10 - 12

Formos is partnering with SkillsMatter to provide open enrollment Tapestry training. The training will take place at the SkillsMatter offices in downtown London.

This is the same course materials that I use for my on-site Tapestry training ... and I'll be debuting a new lab on Ajax techniques.

Back from Tapestry 5 Training / Madison, WI

Just got back last night from training in Madison WI. This was primarily an intro to Tapestry 5 for Tapestry 4 developers (and a couple of new-to-web-programming developers) and a lot of hands on pair programming to get them going with their conversion work. It was a lot of fun, and as usual, I learned a bit.

I have a couple of weeks respite now before OSCON which will be followed with training in York, UK, then Estonia, then London.

I'm continuing to hold off on code changes to Tapestry 5, though I hit enough minor annoyances that I'm considering a 5.1 bug fix release before starting 5.2 in earnest.

I have a backlog of work related to Tapestry360 and then my main emphasis is going to be Documentation, Screencasts, Articles, Documentation and Documentation, plus some additional Documentation. It may be a while before I start with new features for 5.2.

Coming to London, UK

It's looking very likely I'll be in London, UK next month for a bit of on-site training. I'm also speaking at JavaZone 2008. I'd love to optimize the number of flights I make to Europe, so if anyone is on the Continent is hankering for a little Tapestry training, now's a good time to get in touch!

After London, Suzy and I are then going to do a little trip around Europe, taking a couple of days in Paris and Amsterdam.

Coming to Cambridge, UK

I'll be flying into Cambridge, UK for a week of Tapestry training. I'll be there from Sunday through Thursday night before returning to sunny Portland on Friday. Drop me a line if you are a Tapestry enthusiast in the area ... it's always fun to get together for a drink and talk tech.
