Daffy Dilly "It's shocking"

One of my favorite things about hand drawn animation is the crazy frames in between key poses or drawings done to create an effect. Things like smears, mulitples and whatever the hell you call what Jim Tyer is doing most of the time. A great example is Daffy getting electrocuted by his own hand buzzer in Chuck Jones' underrated short, "Daffy Dilly". If I recall correctly, the scene was animated by Lloyd Vaughan, or was it Phil Monroe? I'm sure someone with a keener eye can say for sure who drew the scene. Anyway, enjoy those crazy frames.

Pixie and Dixie - "Scaredycat Dog" Storyboards

Here are Dan Gordon's storyboards for the Pixie and Dixie short, "Scaredycat Dog" and screenshots of the finished corresponding scenes. You'll see that some scenes were changed or just omitted altogether. I assume either because of time constraints or it being more economical. For more info, including music cue IDs check out Yowp's post on the cartoon.

Jim Tyer - Beaver Trouble

Here are a couple of scenes animated by Jim Tyer from the Terrytoons short "Beaver Trouble". As always Tyer's animation is loaded with strange movements and crazy looking drawings.

Pete Hothead Model Sheets

Here are a few model sheets from the first Pete Hothead short. Released in 1952 and directed former Tom & Jerry animator Pete Burness. Ted Parmelee was the designer but I don't know whether he drew these models.
