Worth the Risk?

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

Well it appears that the military is using questionable tactics to get the numbers up.

They are now engaging in bribery.

Bonuses ranging from $5,000 to $19,000 are being offered and the Army also dropped a rule that had blocked former soldiers from getting training in a different career field than they previously had worked.

The U.S. Army, fresh off missing its latest annual recruiting goal, has launched an unprecedented effort to coax former troops to sign up again for active-duty military service, officials said on Tuesday.

I hope the vets are smarter than falling for $$$$. I really don't see the value of having to worry about being part of the stop lose policy and not being allowed to come back home after their tour of duty, to the very possibility of not coming back alive.

That's a lot to ask for such a paltry bonus.

Another One Bites The Dust

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

So, I did nothing wrong is pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery and fraud, and tax evasion.

In court documents, prosecutors said Cunningham admitted receiving at least $2.4 million in bribes paid in a variety of forms, including checks totaling over $1 million, cash, antiques, rugs, furniture, yacht club fees and vacations.

Among other things, prosecutors said, Cunningham was given $1.025 million to pay down the mortgage on his Rancho Santa Fe mansion, $13,500 to buy a Rolls-Royce and $2,081 for his daughter's graduation party at a Washington hotel.

Well, Well, Well, the "Dukester" seems to have a problem with honesty. But his quote below is a real knee slapper,
"The truth is I broke the law, concealed my conduct, and disgraced my office," the 63-year-old Republican said at a news conference. "I know that I will forfeit my freedom, my reputation, my worldly possessions, most importantly, the trust of my friends and family."

He says he will forfeit his reputation, he thinks he still has a reputation.

Everyone Knew

A second Time magazine reporter has agreed to cooperate in the CIA leak case and will testify about her discussions with Karl Rove's attorney, a sign that prosecutors are still exploring charges against the White House aide.

Novak specifically has been asked to testify under oath about conversations she had with Rove attorney Robert Luskin starting in May 2004, the magazine reported.

Dick Sings for America

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

Dick Cheney's Song of America Drafting a plan for global dominance.

This is another in-depth look at Dick's rise to power. The article is written by David Armstrong for Harper's magazine.

David exposes some of the players who rode into power after having to wait eight long years before they could finish implementing "The Plan" for world domination. They had drawn up "The Plans" way back during the first Bush presidency.

What I found to be of particular interest to me, was how much Colin Powell was involved in "The Plan." He was a lot more involved then previously reported. Of course Wolfowitz has usually been the one to always emerge as the sole author of "The Plan", but I guess Powell was more of an insider.

I have never trusted Powell. Now I guess I know why I never liked him. He is still a part of the military industrial complex.

Dick Preys for US

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

There is a very excellent article by Sidney Blumenthal on Salon. The title of the article is The long march of Dick Cheney--For his entire career, he sought untrammeled power. The Bush presidency and 9/11 finally gave it to him -- and he's not about to give it up.

In the article Sidney examines Dick's rise to power. It is important to understand how Dick ticks. He is pretty simple minded when it comes to how he manages things.
Full steam ahead and he'll be damned of any consequence. Dick is not concerned for anything except the "Love of Money", which I am inclined to believe is the God that Dick worships.
After all the phrase "In God We Trust" is on every form of currency printed in the US.
All hail the mighty dollar God. Come let us Prey!

Giving Thanks

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

There is talk at the pentagon about troop deployment. That's certainly a reason to give thanks.

Even Democrats are starting to question the "MisAdministration" about the secret documents the White House is still keeping from them, concerning the intelligence they had before going to war. The documents they say everybody saw, yet some how they refuse to hand them over to the senate intelligence committee.

Then we have Democrats demanding information concerning troop withdrawals.

Indictments of Tom DeLay, Irv Lewis (Scooter) Libby, Tom Noe, Jack Abramoff, Michael Scanlon pleading guilty to conspiracy.

And of course the elections earlier this month. The people rejected a lot of the BS that were on the ballots. If only Texas had been paying attention!

Cheney's Message Sending Troops Wrong Message

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

Cheney's comments are irresponsible and dishonest. His rhetoric is sending the troops the wrong message. His disrespect to veterans who served their country during the Vietnam war, while he got five deferments, is typical of the warhawks mentality.

Scanlon Pleads Guilty to Conspiracy

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

On Friday, Michael Scanlon was charged with conspiracy, accused of plotting with Jack Abramoff to defraud the tribes and bribe government officials, including a member of Congress.

The criminal charge against Scanlon shows that the lawmaker of most interest to prosecutors is House Administration Committee Chairman Robert W. Ney (R-Ohio). Prosecutors charged that Scanlon and Abramoff conspired to bribe Ney -- referred to in the charging document as "Representative #1" -- by providing him and staff members with a golf trip to Scotland, sports tickets, meals, and campaign contributions.

Ney also placed comments in the Congressional Record favorable to Abramoff's 2000 purchase of the Florida casino boat company, SunCruz Casinos. Scanlon handled SunCruz's dealings with Ney and his chief of staff, Neil Volz, who later also went to work for Abramoff.

So, why would Ney introduce legislation concerning SunCruz a Florida company, when he is from Ohio?

Cheney's Dishonesty Rears Its Ugly Head Again

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

Cheney must think that everybody is as stupid as their base. I am only referring to emails in which they state that their "supporters are stupid". Hence the reference.

The White House receives intel that they are the only top level officials to receive that intel. The White House determines what intel they pass on to congress. For Cheney and Bush to continue to make these false statements in public just goes to show you that they will continue to lie to the American people and the rest of the world.

The truth will be exposed and we can only hope that the Bush MisAdministration will find a nice home at Gitmo. Perhaps Cheney can enjoy some of that torture he loves so much!

Rush's New Stance

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

Well, what can I say except the "gas-bag" is at it again.

I do not believe torture is a christian value, at least it wasn't considered a value of Jesus. But yet here we have the Republicans touting torture as a good thing. Republicans think it's a wonderful thing to torture people!

How can they claim to be christians when they hold those kinds of values?

What if they were the ones being on the other end of the cattle prod, or electrodes attached to their testicles, or forced to stand in stress poses, or having feces smeared on your body, or being raped/sodomized?

I would condone that type of behavior only if the ones in favor of it are treated the same way.

Maybe when the White House is finally exposed for all the scandals currently being uncovered, maybe we could use those techniques on all of them!!!

More Deception Exposed

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

More information keeps coming out about the "intelligence" the Bush administration received before they decided to invade Iraq.

The truth of the matter will be exposed for all to see and bear witness. The White House is spinning out of control. They think they can keep deceiving us with the lies, and spin that congress received the same intel. That is a lie, and they know it is a LIE. The president receives intelligence briefings that congress never sees!

Well, they will not be able to completely cover up this mess. They have taken our country into war just so they could loot our treasury.
Case in point, there is a growing mound of money that is unaccounted for and this is not just a few million here or there, we are talking about BILLIONS OF DOLLARS!

Where is all that MONEY!!! To expand upon a joke the president made regarding WMD's not being found in the Oval Office, perhaps he could look for the missing money under his desk, or perhaps it's under the rug, or maybe it's under the cushions on the sofa, or Laura's purse.

Below is the referenced joke, the WMD's have been replaced with my question, "Where's the money"?

One pictured Mr Bush looking under a piece of furniture in the Oval Office, at which the president remarked: "Those piles of CASH have got to be here somewhere."

After another one, showing him scouring the corner of a room, Mr Bush said: "No, no CASH over there," he said.

And as a third picture, this time showing him leaning over, appeared on the screen the president was heard to say: "Maybe under here?"

Trans•Spin•dental Trance

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

Trans•Spin•dental: the act of making one's head spin so fast it sends you into a trance.

A new word or phrase that I coined.

The above image is the cover of my comic book series. All of the previous post are all part of the different series. So far I am in the process of creating several series, and will post a comic from each of the series on a daily basis (I hope) at least within the 24 hour time table.

After a considerable time keeping myself informed about the world in which we live, and especially in regards to our country, I came upon an expression that seemed to be appropriate to the conditions we are currently living under, with all the constant spinning from the right wing.

Why does Bill O'Reilly hate America???

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

So, if O'Reilly was president he would withhold funds from people who won't vote the way he wants them to vote, and will incite other countries to come and attack our nation!

I believe in the first amendment and his right to say whatever the Fook he wants to say, but I do not believe he has that right to spew that kind of vibrato over our public airwaves. He has betrayed our nation, and the trust of the "public airwaves", to me what he has done is the same as shouting fire in a crowded theater.

So, I call on the powers that be to exterminate his program. That would be the correct course of action to take against someone who wants to see harm inflicted upon the citizens of our country.

Redefining Torture Part1

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

It is unfortunate that I would have to dig out those pictures from Abu Ghraib, but I think it reminds us of the horrors that occurred there. These are the kinds of practices the president and vice president are recommending to lawmakers, to exempt the CIA from the Geneva Conventions.

What kind of signal is that sending out to the rest of the world?

If our country condones this type of behavior, does that mean that the gloves are off and anyone will be able to use torture as a method of extracting information?

Will this act have consequences that will encourage the terrorist to attack us, kind a like an open invitation to terror?

Should we redefine Christianity, to be more acceptable to charlatans?

Would Jesus condone that type of behavior?

Wasn't his teachings about love of man, and tolerance?

Was I wrong about all that?

I suppose time will tell what the final outcome of this invasion will have on the rest of the world. We will also have to wait to see what kind of an impact it will have on our psyches. As a nation that claims to have morals and values, I am appalled at the attitudes of our leadership.

The lies of Ken Tomlinson

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

Most of the information came from Media Matters for America, however the "conversation between the White House and Ken" are fabrications from what is very likely to have happened, but I have no way of knowing this for sure. Although I could have just stated it as truth, as the right-wing would have done.

Double Standards

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

It's a shame at the way the so called Republican leadership always places the blame upon other people, yet they tend to have a problem when it comes to holding their party accountable.

Talk about your double standards.

Cheney caught lying again

© 2005 Com•Log•ic

"The Vice President certainly must have known Wilson during his tenure as secretary of defense during the first President Bush’s administration.
In the weeks leading up to the first Gulf War, Wilson served as the acting U.S ambassador on the ground in Baghdad. In fact, Wilson was the only line of communication between Washington and Saddam Hussein. The White House held daily briefings with Wilson, and Cheney sat in on a majority of
those briefings."
Actually the issue raised above is brought to you by Jason leopold
Raw Story: Alternative news.

Of course we can't expect anyone within the administration or the SCLM (so called liberal media) to ask hard questions are even acknowledge they are partly responsible for the mess our country is facing.

We were warned by the Republicans (and parroted by the SCLM) in 2000 that our country was in a Constitutional Crisis.
Little did we know that they would be responsible for the continued "Culture of Corruption" ushered in with the "Contract on America", along with the Constitutional CRISIS that they created and has been ignored since they took control of our government.

State of the Union Part 01

© 2005

Welcome to the "State of the Union" series.

The administration, facing increased criticism over the claims it made about Iraq's attempts to buy uranium, had said until now that it did not have the documents before the State of the Union speech.

But on the eve of Bush's Jan. 28 State of the Union address, Robert Joseph, an assistant to the president in charge of nonproliferation at the National Security Council (NSC), initially asked the CIA if the allegation that Iraq sought to purchase 500 pounds of uranium from Niger could be included in the presidential speech.
