Cleveland: Confused City on a Seesaw by Philip W. Porter retired executive editor of the Plain Dealer 1976 TABLE OF CONTENTS No detached, scholarly, objective examination of the past, this is an eyewitness account of Cleveland during Phil Porter's fifty-year career as a working newspaperman in the city, told in his own blunt, subjective, often controversial style.
This edition contains all the text found in the original 1976 book, along with some enhancements developed to aid in navigating this site. At this time we are not offering the illustrations from the book, due to uncertainties about intellectual property rights. That may change. The site is hosted by the Cleveland State University Library and is presented here with the permission of Mr. Porter's estate. |
