AUTO TWEET USING GOOGLE FEEDBURNER

Google Feedburner helps you to auto post to your Twitter account. All that is to configure your blog’s feed using Feedburner and then in the Feedburner account, configure your Twitter account also. Confusing? Here I am explaining it step by step. Just follow it and relax to see your blog posts right in your twitter account. If you already have a Feedburner account for your blog’s feed, then please select that feed and directly go to step 6.

How to configure auto post to Twitter account by Google Feedburner

1. Go to www.feedburner.com, login with your Google ID and password.

2. Enter your blog's web address( URL) in the "Burn a feed right this instant?" form found on FeedBurner homepage after your login.If you like to publish a podcast with your Blogger feed, check the "I am a podcaster" box. Click Next».                                                       

3. Original feeds of your blog will be identified and provided to select. Usually two original feeds are given. You may select any one of these, and click “Next»”

4. Next page, you can see a welcome, where the “Feed Title”  and “Feed Address”  are given. You may change both according to your ways. Please note down the feed address as hereafter this will be your main Feed address. Click on Next»

Your feed address will look like this

          http://feeds.feedburner.com/YOUR FEEDNAME

5. Now you have successfully configured your Feed. Now click on “skip directly to feed management”. You will reach a page where you can see tabs as given in the picture.

6. Click on “Publicize”

7. Then click on "Socialize" in the left menu, and there you can Add your Twitter account.

After adding you Twitter account, you can configure the auto posting in the options given there. Then Activate. When ever you upload a new post in you blog, it will be automatically posted to your Twitter account.

Want more followers for your blog? Here is a simple and much effective way of following a blog. “ Follow by Email Gadget” by Google Blogger. Inviting a visitor to follow your blog through Email, with this marvelous widget is one of the best SEO process that a blogger can do. Another important feature of this widget is that, it will automatically create a “Feedburner Feed”, if not yet created. I am very sad on another matter that my post for  CREATING AND PUBLICIZING A FEEDBURNER FEED is no more necessary for my readers.

How to add “Follow by Email gadget”

To add the Follow by Email gadget, Login to your Blogger dashboard, click the Add a Gadget link from the Design/Page Elements tab, and then select the Follow by Email gadget form the list. Then Save.Then the readers visiting your blog can then just enter their email address and click Submit.

Important matters to note:

1. If you already have a Feedburner Feed address, then please give that address while adding and configuring this Gadget as it is shown in the picture given below. Place your original Feedburner Feed address in the space given. (shown by black arrow in the picture)

2. You can view the statistics of your blog feed by logging into your FeedBurner account.

HOW TO KNOW FEED ADDRESS OF YOUR BLOG

Many bloggers asking me about the Feed address of their own blog. Most of them have trouble in configuring their blog in Feedburner and in submitting a sitemap in Google Webmaster Tools and Yahoo Submit URL. Here in this post, I would like to explain how to identify the Feed address of a blog. Veteran bloggers- kindly excuse me, this post targeting Holy blogging beginners.

While submitting sitemap, Google, yahoo and MSN ask for the feed URL of your blog. It is always better that you provide, any one of the below given Feeds.

We have studied how we can redirect an Original Feed (Atom,RSS) of a blog into a valid  FeedBurner account in Part1.Then we studied how we can effectively publicize this feed of your blog by Feedburner in Part 2. The optimization of a feed using feed burner was studied in Part 3. Also we studied about how to monetize your feed using Feed Burner by following simple steps in PART 4. In this PART 5, we will study about how to analyze feed and its subscribers.

STEP A

Follow the below given steps to create a Feedburner account and syndicate your feed. If you already created this, then please proceed to STEP B

1. 1. Go to www.feedburner.com, login with your Google ID and password.

   After completing this configuration of your Feed, you may customize the applied FeedBurner services to provide a more detailed podcast listing at iTunes&Yahoo! search and  additional free FeedBurner Stats options for a more richly detailed view of your feed readership. After configuration simply click Next», till you get a message “You have successfully updated the feed”.

   Now focus on the header portion where you can see a tab called “ANALYZE”, Click on that where you will reach a page to avail free services from feed burner to optimize your feed.

STEP B

ANALYZE A FEED:

Before analyzing a Feed, you must configure it. Simply click on Analyze tab and then click on Configure stats, under SERVICES. Now check all boxes and Activate.

You can view your Feed Statistics, and Headline animator statistics also in this.  Under “Feed Stats”, you can see Subscriber count, Item use, Map overlay to find from which countries your visitors are coming. You may export these data into Ms Excel also.

Headline animator statistics and email subscription statistics will help you to assess about the power of your feed subscription and visibility. You can experiment the areas to display and try to get more visitors and subscribers.

Blogger allows an easy way to Monetize your blog feed. Login to Blogger, go to DashBoard, then click on “Monetize” and finally on “Adsense for Feeds”. Here you can configure your existing adsense accounts and monetize feed. Google automatically chooses which ads to show based on your blog's content, and you earn money when visitors view or click on these ads.

OPTIMIZE A FEED:

In this option, you are getting a chance to provide more beautiful look and much options for your feed.

1. BROWSERFRIENDLY – You can optimize you feed as a browser friendly one by selecting appearance options and content options. Also don't forget to Activate this
2. SMARTCAST – This service makes podcasting easy in feeds and link to MP3s, videos, images, and other digital media in your site content and SmartCast creates enclosures for them automatically. Be a Podcaster through this easily.
3. SMARTFEED – Please activate this service because this will help to ensure maximum compatibility will all available readers in blogosphere.
4. FEEDFLARE – Please activate service also as this help your subscribers easy ways to email, tag, share, and act on your latest content with some services listed there, like Technorati, Digg etc
5. LINK SPLICER – This service adds a new item to your FeedBurner feed that contains new links you have added to your link collection account.
6. PHOTO SPLICER – This  service is not a necessary one, but if you want the photos in your Flicker, Buzznet, or Webshots account get published through your blog feed, then please activate this. Please remember that “Flickr ID" is not your Flickr screen name. This is a value (e.g. 44124460868@N01) you may find within photo URLs, or in the URL of your original Flickr photostream feed
7. GEOTAG YOUR FEED – If you wish to announce  your readers from where you are publishing, this service help to insert the geographical latitude and longitude tags per the world geodesic survey RDF specification
8. FEED IMAGE BURNER– You can provide your own special image to get a special identification of your feed. If you provide your own image, it should not be more than 144 pixels tall or wide. 
9. TITLE/DESCRIPTION BURNER– You are getting an option to change the Title and Description of your feed in your own words. This is just an optimizing technique, will not affect the search engine crawling of your blog. You can type desired words in the box provided and activate it.
10. CONVERT FORMAT BURNER– Feedburner converts your feed into desired Atom or RSS. But if its better not using this service if you use SmartFeed as described above in No. 3
11. SUMMARY BURNER– This option let you make a short summary of your content in the feed and direct your subscribers to your blog when they click to “read more”

PUBLICIZE A FEED:

Publicizing a blog feed is very important to improve the subscriber status of your blog and there by increasing the number of readers. Feedburner provides 11 options under publicizing a feed. You may select as much as you can.

1. HEADLINE ANIMATOR – You can create and customize more than one animated banner that cycles through your feed's most recent items. It's an easy way to promote your content anywhere in blogosphere by placing snippet. Customize it according to your publishing options. Then Activate, Copy the HTML, Login to Blogger, go to Dashboard, Layout, Page Elements, Add a Gadget and HTML/JavaScript. Now Paste the copied script in this and Save. A headline animator will appear with your recent posts.
2. BUZZBOOST - BuzzBoost help you to republish your burned feed's content. This is very useful if we want to cross promote your blog on another site you manage. Customize it according to your publishing options. Then Activate, Copy the HTML, Login to Blogger, go to Dashboard, Layout, Page Elements, Add a Gadget and HTML/JavaScript. Now Paste the copied script in this and Save.
3. EMAIL SUBSCRIPTIONS – as a part of promoting your blog, you need to have as much as subscribers for your blog. By creating this subscription option, readers can subscribe your blogs latest content on your email. While customizing this, you may select the type of your feed language. You can view your total number of subscribers at the end of the page, put some preferences, brand your email and fix a time to deliver your email. Want to try? 4. PINGSHOT – Simply activate this option. This will invite search engines to visit your blog whenever you update your blog with a post. Nice easy way of search engine optimization.
5. FEEDCOUNT – As the name indicates, this gadget will help to show the total number of feed subscribers of your blog. Another cool way to promote your feed. Customize, Copy the HTML, Login to Blogger, go to Dashboard, Layout, Page Elements, Add a Gadget and HTML/JavaScript. Now Paste the copied script in this and Save.
6. SOCIALIZE – You can socialize your blog posts by adding your Twitter account in this. Customize it and then Activate.
7. CHICLET CHOOSER – Another way to provide an option for your readers to subscribe using any of the popular web services.
8. AWARENESS API - Awareness API allows developers to build applications that can display, analyze and promote your feed's traffic data outside of FeedBurner.
9. CREATIVE COMMON - Creative Commons is an alternative to full copyright. that helps you keep your copyright but allow people to copy and distribute your work provided they give you credit with the conditions you specify here.
10. PASSWORD PROTECTOR – You can protect your feed with a required username and password using HTTP authentication. Any requests for your burned feed will require readers to enter a username and password to retrieve it. The major drawback is that this service supports only one username and password combination.
11. NOINDEX – If you not want your blog feed to get indexed by search engines, and yahoo pipes then please use this feature to block it.

What is Atom/RSS?

  Atom and RSS ( Really Simple Syndication) which  help the readers to get automatic updated posts of blogs or websites. These updating are also called Feeds. Feeds help to distribute their content well beyond just visitors using browsers. Feeds permit subscription to regular updates, delivered automatically via a web portal, news reader, or in some cases good old email. Feeds also make it possible for site content to be packaged into "widgets," "gadgets," mobile devices, and other bite-sized technologies that make it possible to display blogs, podcasts, and major news/sports/weather/whatever headlines etc.

The major disadvantage is that Atom feed or RSS feed is difficult to read as it is syndicated with plain HTML. In such cases, we had to use a Feed reader like Google Reader or Bloglines.

How to create a Blogger Feed using FEEDBURNER?

With raw Atom and RSS, a blogger cannot optimize the feed. So we use “FeedBurner” as our platform to change the feed and make the most out of that. Simply follow the below given steps and create a Feedburner account and syndicate your feed

2. Enter your blog's web address( URL) in the "Burn a feed right this instant?" form found on FeedBurner homepage after your login.If you like to publish a podcast with your Blogger feed, check the "I am a podcaster" box. Click Next».

Redirect your Blogger feed to your FeedBurner feed

Traditionally blogs have two Original feeds like Atom and RSS. After you create a Feedburner account, blogger can make sure all feed traffic for your blog content goes to your FeedBurner feed. This will help FeedBurner to collect exact statistics and subscribers to the 'Original Feed' are routed through FeedBurner. To redirect your feed:

1. Sign in to your Blogger account.

2. From the Blogger Dashboard, click the Settings link for the blog you want to promote.

   The Settings page for your selected blog should appear.

3. Click the Site Feed link under the Settings tab.

4. Type your complete FeedBurner feed address into the Post Feed Redirect URL text field.Type in your entire feed address like this           http://feeds.feedburner.com/YOUR FEEDNAME 

5. Click Save Settings.

Once "Settings were Saved Successfully" then onwards,blogger will redirect all feed traffic for your blog to your FeedBurner feed.
