Stan an' Jan
Monday Cartoon Day
Stan and Janice Berenstain were a very succesful couple of wrtiter/cartoonists in the forties and fifties. They started out at the Saturday Evening Post, but soon became regular at Colier's where they also do a seris of very funny and very busy covers. Like all cartoonists of their generation at some point they created a regular cartoons series and that series ended up being a newspaper stripa s well. In their case Sister was pretty succesful as a cartoon series and less so as a newspaper series. They finally got fame and book contracts when they started doing children's books about some sort of bears... Today I am sharing some of the cartoons. Tomorrow we'll see the newspaper version.
