You sometimes see samples of suicide related stories from artist who actually did commit suicide later in life. Jack Cole is an example of one such artists, who used a lot of suicide gags. On the other hand, that may not foreshadow anything, because as these gags show, the theme was a lot more common in the insensitive twenties.
